Erich Hossenfelder

Erich Hossenfelder (born November 18, 1875 in Graudenz , † February 15, 1935 in Berlin ) was a German consular officer.

Life

After graduating from high school in Strasburg in West Prussia , Hossenfelder studied law at the Albertus University of Königsberg and the University of Greifswald . He was a member of the Corps Masovia (1894) and the Corps Guestfalia Greifswald (1896). Since 1897 trainee lawyer in the Prussian judicial service, in 1904 he joined the consular career of the Foreign Service . From 1906 to 1917 he was at the Consulate General in New York (1910 Vice Consul, 1912 Consul ). When the First World War broke out on August 3, 1914, Hossenfelder returned to New York from the German Reich on the ship America .

From 1917 to 1919 at the Consulate General in Zurich and then in the Foreign Office, in 1923 he was lecturer in the Legation . In 1930 he was sent to Addis Ababa as an envoy . After working for Haile Selassie , he was given early retirement in 1933 at the age of 58 in accordance with Section 6 of the Professional Civil Service Act .
