The Erie Township is one of 22 townships in Whiteside County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 , the Erie Township had 2006 residents.

The Erie Township is located on the north bank of the Rock River in northwest Illinois. The Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is about 15 to the west. The Wisconsin border is 110 km north.

The Erie Township is located at 41 ° 38'22 "north latitude and 90 ° 07'02" west longitude and extends over 63.97 km², which is spread over 62.15 km² of land and 1.82 km² of water.

Erie Township is west of Whiteside County and borders Rock Island County to the west . Within Whiteside County, Erie Township is bordered by Portland Township to the south, southeast and east , Fenton Township to the northeast , Newton Township to the north and Albany Township to the northwest .
