The Fulton Township is one of 22 townships in Whiteside County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 Fulton Township had 4,251 residents.

Fulton Township is located in northwest Illinois, on the eastern bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa . The Wisconsin border is 50 miles north.

The Fulton Township is located at 41 ° 52'59 "north latitude and 90 ° 08'04" west longitude and extends over 55.4 km², which is spread over 44.8 km² of land and 10.6 km² of water.

The Fulton Township is located in the extreme northwest of Whiteside County and borders Carroll County to the north . On the opposite bank of the Mississippi is Clinton County , Iowa. Within Whiteside County, Fulton Township is bordered by Ustick Township to the east, Union Grove Township to the southeast and Garden Plain Township to the south .

The oldest traffic route is the Mississippi, on which an important part of the flow of goods is still transported through the center of the USA. The river is kept navigable for large barges by dams, of which Lock and Dam No. 13 one located between Fulton Township and the opposite bank in Iowa.
