The Jordan Township is one of 22 townships in Whiteside County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 the Jordan Township had 899 inhabitants.

Jordan Township is located in northwest Illinois, around 50 km east of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa . The Wisconsin border is 70 km north.

The Jordan Township is located at 41 ° 53'17 "north latitude and 89 ° 41'31" west longitude and extends over 92.71 km². The Elkhorn River flows through the township from north to south .

The Jordan Township is located in the far northeast of Whiteside County and is bordered to the north by the Carroll , to the northeast by the Ogle and to the east by Lee County . Within Whiteside County, Jordan Township is bordered by Sterling Township to the south, Hopkins Township to the southwest and Genesee Township to the west .

Illinois State Route 40 runs through the southeast of the township . All other roads are county roads or further subordinate and partly unpaved roads.

The Whiteside County Airport is a small airfield around 15 km south of the Jordan Township. The closest major airports are Chicago Rockford International Airport, around 70 km northeast, and Quad City International Airport, around 100 km southwest .

According to the 2010 census , there were 899 people in 343 households in Jordan Township. The population density was 9.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.62 people lived in each of the 343 households.
