Erik Willam "Loppan" Adlerz (born July 23, 1892 in Stockholm , † September 8, 1975 in Gothenburg ) was a Swedish diver . Adlerz took part in the Olympic Games four times between 1908 and 1924 and was a two-time Olympic champion at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912.

Adlerz made his Olympic debut at the 1908 Olympic Games in London , where the Swedish team dominated the Diving competitions. The only 16-year-old Adlerz could not prevail against the strong competition from his own country and did not get beyond the preliminary fights.

Four years later, at the Olympic Games in his home country, he made a permanent mark in the annals of swimming. He managed to continue the Swedish dominance and he won both competitions in high diving. His further career was hampered by the First World War, which resulted in the cancellation of the Olympic Games in 1916 .

At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 , the first after the end of the war, he won another silver medal in high diving (5 m and 10 m). In the simple jumping (3 m and 10 m), he finished fourth behind three of his Swedish teammates. His last appearance at the Olympic Games was at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris , where he again achieved fourth place from the tower.

As a pioneer of water jumping, Adlerz was accepted into the hall of fame of international swimming in 1986 .
