Sun shuwei ( Chinese  孙淑伟 , Pinyin Sūn shuwei *, 21st January 1976 in Jieyang ) is a former Chinese diver . He started in the 10 m tower and synchronized jumping. In 1992 he was Olympic champion from the tower, and he also won two world championship titles.

Sun Shuwei came to a sports school when he was eight, where he professionally learned to jump in the water. In 1989, at the age of 13, he was accepted into the Chinese national team. At the Asian Games in Beijing in 1990 , Sun Shuwei won gold from the tower, his first international medal. He also won the title from the 10-meter tower at his first World Cup in Perth in 1991 . The following year he took part in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona . He won the gold medal from the tower by a clear margin. At the World Cup in Rome in 1994 , Sun Shuwei again won a medal, this time silver behind Dmitri Sautin . He was also able to defend his title at the Asian Games in Hiroshima . Sun Shuwei missed participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta due to illness. At the 1998 World Championships in Perth he started with Tian Liang in synchronized jumping , which was held for the first time, and won another World Cup gold. In 2001 he ended his active career.

Sun Shuwei coached the Chinese Olympic team in 2008.
