Clarence Elmer "Bud" Pinkston (born February 1, 1900 in Wichita , Kansas , † November 18, 1961 in Detroit , Michigan ) was an American high diver .
Pinkston attended Oregon State University and then Stanford University . At the Olympic Games in 1920 he won the gold medal from the 10-meter tower and the silver medal from the 3-meter board. At the Olympics in Paris four years later, he won the bronze medal at the same events. At this Olympics he met his future wife Elizabeth Becker , whom he later trained.
