Erik Christian Haemmerli (born January 17, 1967 in Zurich , legal resident in Zurich and Lenzburg ) is a Swiss television chef and catering entrepreneur.

biography

Erik Haemmerli was born in Zurich in 1967 and is the nephew of Professor Urs Peter Haemmerli . In 2007, the documentary film Sieben Mulden and a corpse of his brother Thomas Haemmerli showed how the two brothers clear out their messy mother's apartment and find more and more material about their family history in it. Erik Haemmerli is married to media manager Andrea Haemmerli and has a daughter. He lives in Zurich.

Restaurateur

Erik Haemmerli did an apprenticeship as a cook and one as a waiter with the top chefs Max Kehl (Chez Max), Horst Petermann (Petermanns Kunststuben) and Heinz Witschi (Witschi's Reblaube). He then graduated from the Lucerne Hotel Management School . In Zurich he ran the sturgeon cooking and catering service “Schlemmerservice” with Corina Fistarol from 1996 to 1999. After various positions at home and abroad, he and his wife Andrea Haemmerli took over the Bederhof restaurant in 2005, which was gently renovated and enlarged. The Bederhof follows the Slow Food concept and relies on a menu with home-style cuisine. The Old Fashion Bar was added from 2007 to 2014. In 2011, he and Mike Gut and Marco Pfoster took over the Fischstube restaurant on Lake Zurich, whose future renovation is a political issue. He is involved in various catering companies and gives cooking courses.

TV chef

Erik Haemmerli has hosted the SwissDinner program since 2010 and is now one of the most famous TV chefs in Switzerland . Swiss Dinner is at Perfect Celebrity Dinner of VOX ajar and will be broadcast on TeleZüri , TeleBärn , Telebasel and the Aargauer station Tele M1 .

politics

Erik Haemmerli was politically active on various occasions. He took part in the Vote-in -Landsgemeinde of his brother Thomas Haemmerli, where politicians and celebrities from left to right voted against the SVP's initiative against mass immigration . In his restaurants he put up flyers against the initiative, and he was on a testimonial poster of the Society for Open & Modern Switzerland and the Wirteverband against the Ecopop initiative , which also wanted to abolish the free movement of people with the EU.

Honourings and prices

  • 2012 Second place in the Best of Swiss Gastro Award in the outdoor category with the fish parlor
  • 2010 winner of the Best of Swiss Gastro Award in the Classique category with the Bederhof restaurant and bar
  • 2000 Winning the bar contest with the night café in Zurich
