Erik Pauly

Erik Pauly (born 1970 ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). He has been Lord Mayor of Donaueschingen since 2014 .

Life

Pauly grew up in Titisee-Neustadt and Stuttgart . In 1989 he passed the Abitur in Stuttgart and then did his military service with the Franco-German Brigade in Böblingen , where he was trained as a reserve officer . In 2012 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the reserve. From 1991 he studied law and passed the first state examination in Heidelberg in 1995 . After completing his legal clerkship in Karlsruhe , he started his own business as a lawyer in 1997 with a law firm specializing in public law and inheritance law . Since 2003 he has been a lecturer in the training of trainee lawyers. In 2004 he opened the law firm Pauly & Partner . In 2012 he became a member of the advisory board of the Freiburg prison and in 2013 a lecturer at the University of Kehl .

Pauly is a member of the CDU . In 2012 he applied to the Freiburg constituency as a direct candidate for the CDU, but lost to Matern von Marschall . In 2014 he stood as a non-party member of the mayoral election in Donaueschingen and was elected to succeed Thorsten Frei with 55.6 percent of the votes in the first ballot . He took office on March 15, 2014.

Pauly is Protestant and single.
