Erika Eichenseer , née Jahn (born June 5, 1934 in Munich ), is a retired German secondary school teacher . D. , author , fairy tale researcher and editor .

Life

After finishing school in Erding, Eichenseer attended the teachers' seminar in Freising from 1952 to 1954 . After her legal clerkship at a primary school, she studied English and German until 1959. In her senior year she married Adolf Eichenseer . From then until 1979 she worked as a secondary school teacher in Munich and then after the family move to Regensburg in 1969 as such. Together with Harald Grill , with whose wife Erika she wrote two knitting books, she regularly organizes the dialect poetry events Wöi us der Schnobl is g'waxed in the Upper Palatinate Open Air Museum in Neusath-Perschen . Since 1987 she and her literature group have been represented in the accompanying program of the Weiden Literature Days.

Eichenseer discovered around 500 previously unknown fairy tales by Franz Xaver von Schönwerth in the Regensburg city archive . Among other things, the BR Heimat broadcaster dedicated itself to her with a program in the series Habe die Ehre! Their discovery was even reported in the Washington Post . She is vice-president of the Schönwerth Society and has already published several of Schönwerth's fairy tales in book form as well as a textbook with a booklet for teachers.

Her husband, a former regional home nurse from Upper Palatinate and President of the Schönwerth Society, with whom she edited some publications, died in 2015.
