Adolf Johann Eichenseer (born January 27, 1934 in Schmidmühlen ; † November 20, 2015 in Regensburg ) was a German dialect poet, the first district nurse of the Upper Palatinate and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .

Life and work

Eichenseer was with the Regensburger Domspatzen from 1945 to 1947 and, after graduating from high school in Regensburg , graduated from the Institute for Teacher Training in Freising to become a teacher at elementary schools. From 1955 to 1958 he worked as an elementary school teacher in Munich and passed the second state examination in 1958.

In 1958/59 he trained as a secondary school teacher for German and music at the Pädagogische Hochschule München-Pasing and at the University of Music in Munich , this training ended with the state examination for teaching at secondary schools (subjects German and music). Eichenseer then worked for ten years as a secondary school teacher or teacher in Munich, most recently as secondary school principal.

In a further course of studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , he studied folklore, musicology and education, and in 1966 he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. During this study he was also active as an organist and choir director in St. Joachim, Munich.

He was married to the dialect author and fairy tale researcher Erika Eichenseer .

Act

In 1969 Eichenseer returned to the Upper Palatinate as a district home nurse. In addition to the maintenance of folk music, traditional costumes, folk art and customs, the preservation of monuments, especially anonymous folk architecture, literature and the fine arts, music was one of his main focuses in this activity. He was the founder of the Oberpfälzer Volksmusikarchiv and the “Studios for New Music” in Regensburg. Folklore and homeland care lectures, radio and television broadcasts, exhibitions and major events, for example VITA BAVARICA at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, testify to his work as a folklorist. After his retirement in 1994, his commitment to homeland care and cultural activities continued, which culminated in the founding and further development of the Bavarian-Slovenian Society in 1995.

From 1984 to 2003 he was the head of the Northern Bavarian Music Association and shaped the association for almost two decades. Among his particular merits were the founding of the Northern Bavarian Youth Brass Orchestra in 1988 and the Northern Bavarian Youth Wind Orchestra in 1991. He headed the Upper Palatinate District Association for 30 years as district chairman from 1972 to 2003.
