Nordgau Prize of the Upper Palatinate Cultural Association

The Nordgau Prize of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund (before 1982: Nordgau Culture Prize of the City of Amberg ) is a regional award given since 1952 for personalities (in exceptional cases also for groups or organizations) who live in or come from the Upper Palatinate and the former Nordgau and have made a contribution to culture and homeland care .
The prize was awarded before 1982 on the initiative of the city of Amberg and since then by the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund (OKB) on the occasion of the Nordgautage . In 1952, Amberg was the first venue for the Nordgautage after the Second World War , but was already a venue in 1934.
The Presidium of the Oberpfälzer Kulturbund decides on the award in consultation with the district assembly and the government. There are five possible categories in total.
