Margarete Müller-Henning

Margarete Müller-Henning , née Henning (born May 8, 1924 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ; † February 8, 2015 at Gleusdorf Castle , Untermerzbach ), was a German writer , poet and reciter of Ukrainian origin.

Life

Müller-Henning, the daughter of a German-Baltic and a Russian-German mother, grew up trilingual.

At the age of 15 she published her first poems. In February 1943 she came to Regensburg , where she trained as a qualified interpreter . Her first anthology was published in 1974. From 1975 she also published German and Russian poetry and prose regularly in anthologies and literary magazines . Her writings included translations and German-language revisions of works by Russian writers and poets, including Boris Leonidowitsch Pasternak , Sergei Alexandrowitsch Jessenin and Vladimir Solouchin . Her poetry was partly set to music in song form.

Müller-Henning had been a member of the Regensburg Writers ' Group International (RSGI) since 1975 and of the Free German Authors' Association (FDA) since 1986 . She last lived in the retirement home at Gleusdorf Castle and died at the age of 90. She was active as a writer into old age. Your estate is kept in the Regensburg State Library .
