history
A former parsonage, the Edelmannhof , is the origin of this open-air museum. The farm in Perschen was expanded in 1605 and opened in 1964 as the Upper Palatinate Farmer's Museum Perschen by the museum association founded by Alfons Haseneder in 1961 . The Upper Palatinate district took over the facility in 1977 and also built the Upper Palatinate Open Air Museum outside of Perschen . The facility is one of the oldest museums of its kind in Bavaria . Among other things, the rare work of the clapboard maker is shown.
In July 2020, the previously used name Oberpfälzer Freilandmuseum Neusath-Perschen was changed to Freilandmuseum Oberpfalz .
