The Erlenbach is a short body of water in the urban area of Öhringen in Hohenlohekreis in northern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the Kocher from the left and southeast opposite the Öhringen village Möglingen .

The open lower course of the Erlenbach is created on the little road Kirchhalde on the northern edge of the village Baumerlenbach von Öhringen at about 230 m above sea level. NN . To the northwest he pulls through his incipient here Forest blade Erlengrund between the Reifenberg left and the Heiligenberg right. He passes an old shell limestone quarry in the Reifenberg , which is now being filled as a landfill. The K 2333 from Baumerlenbach in the direction of Möglingen accompanies him on the left. Catchment area
The Erlenbach drains 1.6 km² of the Hohenlohe plain , its catchment area belongs entirely to the Baumerlenbach district of the city of Öhringen . Beyond the watershed, all competitors also drain to the cooker. In the north the watershed borders against the immediate catchment area of the Kocher, in the east against the Ohrn , which runs about 1.5 km north of this , in the south and southwest against the Brettach and some of its right tributaries, in the west against the Heckenfließbach , the in the upper reaches Riedbach is called. The watershed is only pronounced in the north and east towards Kocher and Ohrn. The highest point of the catchment area is at 288.8 m above sea level. The Upper Muschelkalk lies around the deeper subsoil everywhere in the catchment area. Above this lies the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt Formation ) on the lower slopes of the Heiligenberg to the right and the Reifenberg to the left of the blade and in the local area of Baumerlenbach closed , in the catchment area further away from the blade, loess sediment from Quaternary deposits is everywhere .
