José Guardiola (singer)
José Guardiola (actually: Josep Guardiola Díaz de Rada , born October 22, 1930 in Barcelona ; † April 9, 2012 ibid) was a Catalan musician and singer.
He came from a musical family and was successful in Spain and South America in the 1950s and 1960s. His Spanish versions of classics such as Sixteen Tons or Mackie Knives were known . He took part for Spain in the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest in London and reached 12th place with the hit Algo prodigioso . Josep Guardiola also composed the anthem for the Catalan football club RCD Espanyol Barcelona .
