Ernesto Gastaldi

Ernesto Gastaldi (born September 10, 1934 in Graglia ) is an Italian screenwriter and film director .

Life

Gastaldi has been enthusiastic about the cinema since his early youth and made amateur films; later he attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and began in 1958 as an assistant director , but soon established himself as a screenwriter, at the beginning of the 1960s a. a. for horror films . Between 1960 and 1989 he worked for almost 120 films, including numerous successful spaghetti westerns , crime films and other genre films of the respective heyday. Occasionally he made his own directorial appearances, with the artistic and commercial results being disappointing.

Gastaldi is married to the actress Mara Chianetta . Two of his pseudonyms are Julian Berry and Gastad Green .

Gastaldi also published novels under various names (such as Freddy Foster and James Duffy ), including several dime novels and two biographies .
