Ernst Behringer (born March 4, 1942 in Schönenberg , Lörrach district ) is a German CDU politician and former member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

Life and work

Ernst Behringer attended elementary school and commercial vocational school, he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. From 1962 to 1993 he was a soldier in the Bundeswehr with the 10th Panzer Division in Sigmaringen . He was retired on March 31, 1993 under the Personnel Structure Act as a sergeant major.

Political activity

He joined the CDU in 1969 and was CDU district chairman in the Sigmaringen district for 20 years, from 1981 to 2001 . Furthermore, he was honorary chairman of the Sigmaringen city association. He has been a city councilor in Sigmaringen since 1980, and since 1989 chairman of the CDU local council. Behringer is a member of the Sigmaringer building and planning committee. He is a board member of the district SME association.

He has been a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg since November 21, 1994. He replaced Dietmar Schlee , who was elected to the German Bundestag . In the 2006 state elections , he received 53.8 percent of the vote in the Sigmaringen state constituency . In the state parliament, Behringer is chairman of the CDU parliamentary group for petitions. Behringer is a board member of the CDU parliamentary group.

On April 23, 2010, he announced his final resignation at the CDU party conference in Sigmaringendorf. In the state election in 2011 joined Tanja patrons as Erstkandidatin. He wants to keep his seat on the Sigmaringen city council.

Ernst Behringer is a member of the board of the Association of Friends and Patrons of the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences. He is also a full member of the administrative board of the Hohenzollerische Landesbank Kreissparkasse Sigmaringen and a member of the board of trustees of the trust foundation Im Mithaben für das Alter der Vinzenz von Paul gGmbH .

In September 2010 he was awarded the golden badge of honor of the Baden-Württemberg Municipal Council. In 2014 the city of Sigmaringen made him an honorary citizen.

Family and private

Ernst Behringer lives in Sigmaringen, where he also ran his parliamentary office. The Christian Democrat is a Roman Catholic and a passionate tennis player.

On December 12, 2008, he married his partner Elisabeth Raith in the historic hall of the town hall in Sigmaringen. The wedding ceremony was performed by the then Sigmaringen mayor Daniel Rapp . Behringer-Raith is a year younger than her husband. Both were previously widowed.
