About the work
Ernst Hiesmayr's architectural work was characterized by an intensive, passionate examination of tradition. The Bregenzerwald cast a spell over him not only on a personal but also on a professional level. Sparse, material reduction and functionality of grown building culture formed the breeding ground for his world of forms. Many Vorarlberg architects shaped his understanding of tradition and its implementation.
