Ernst Joseph Görlich
Ernst Joseph Görlich (born November 16, 1905 in Vienna , † October 4, 1973 in Oberpullendorf ) was an Austrian historian and writer.
Life
Ernst Joseph Görlich studied archeology, German and history in Vienna. The search for a job led him to Burgenland in 1932 , where he taught German and history at the Roman Catholic teacher training institute in Steinberg an der Rabnitz . In 1935 he took part in the Fatherland Front competition for a national anthem, where he emerged victorious with his three-verse text. Görlich spoke eight languages and was the founder of a regional Esperanto association in Burgenland .
As part of the connection of Austria by Nazi Germany Ernst Görlich was used by the Nazis banned the practice of the profession in Burgenland. As a result, he briefly found a new teaching position in Moravia. In 1943 he was drafted into military service. After 1945, Görlich taught at the Technological Trade Museum in Vienna. He stayed connected to Steinberg as a secondary residence in the summer months and moved his main residence to Steinberg, where he was buried in a grave of honor.
He was a member of Danubia in MKV and Alpenland Vienna in ÖCV.
