Ernst Roch
Wilhelm Ernst Roch (born January 3, 1862 in Annaberg ; † May 10, 1931 there ) was a German lithographer and free-spirited politician .
Live and act
The son of the master shoemaker Christian Moritz Roch (1839-1908) attended the public school in Annaberg from 1868 to 1876 , after which he completed an apprenticeship as a lithographer in Annaberg and Buchholz and attended the advanced training school until 1879 . He stayed as a journeyman in Annaberg until the end of August 1880, but then went on his journey, during which he a. a. was in Budapest and Bucharest . He then did his military service from November 1882 to June 1885. From 1885 to 1887 he was a lithographer in Graslitz and Aussig before he founded his own lithographic institute in his hometown in the Ore Mountains in November . From 1891 to 1922 he was head of the local military association .
From January 1894 to 1911 he was city councilor and from January 1911 to 1922 city councilor of Annaberg. After the death of the Landtag member Alfred Graefe , he was elected in a by-election to the Second Chamber of the Saxon Landtag in the 19th municipal electoral district , of which he was a member until its dissolution in 1918. In March 1924 he served as the deputy mayor.
Honors
In December 1923 he was made an honorary citizen of Annaberg. A street in Annaberg-Buchholz bears his name.
