Ernst Rossmeissl

Ernst Rossmeissl (born January 24, 1934 in Pleschnitz , Mies district ; † March 31, 2012 in Hilpoltstein , Roth district , Middle Franconia ) was a German author and politician. From 1970 to 1994 he was a member of the District Assembly of Middle Franconia as a member of the SPD .

Life

Ernst Rossmeissl was born in Pleschnitz in the Sudetenland as the first child of parents Martin (blacksmith) and Maria Rossmeissl (maker). He attended the village school in Pleschnitz, later the community school in Tuschkau. In 1946 he was expelled with his family and found his new home in Roth , Middle Franconia. After completing his secondary education, he held a key position in business for decades at Metrawatt AG (1957–1968), Brown, Boveri & Cie. - BBC (1968–1975) and Grundig (1976–1986) active.

In 1954 he married Barbara Bloß (1935–2007) with whom he has a son. In 1997 he retired.

politics

As a young man he joined the local SPD association in Roth. In 1950 he and friends founded the local socialist youth group, the Falcons, and took over responsibility for the local SPD association. He was a member of the party's executive committee for 14 years, including three years as chairman. At the district level, he had been deputy chairman of the SPD for several years from 1966. In 1970 he was elected to the Central Franconian District Assembly for the first time , to which he belonged until 1994 with a break of four years. From 1972 to 2002 he was a member of Roth's city ​​council for 30 years .

Social

Ernst Rossmeissl was a member of the board of directors in the social association of workers' welfare (AWO). His work in local politics as well as in the welfare association was above all social policy. It was precisely there that he set standards that have found great recognition in Roth and beyond. The social center of the AWO in Roth was named after Ernst Rossmeissl as "AWO Ernst Rossmeissl Social Center".
