Ernst Wachler

Ernst Wachler (born January 15, 1803 in Marburg , † March 1, 1888 in Breslau ) was a German judge and national liberal politician in Breslau.

Life

As the son of Ludwig Wachler , he studied from 1821 to 1824 first philology , then law at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1821 he became a member of the old Breslau fraternity Arminia .

After graduating, he joined the judicial service of the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1850 he became the district court director in Wroclaw. Wachler had been a city ​​councilor in Wroclaw since 1841 . In addition, he was a consistorial councilor of the general, provincial and district synods of the Protestant Church. He was one of the denominational Lutherans within the Union who founded the Lutheran Provincial Association in Silesia.

In the German Revolution of 1848/1849 Wachler was a member of the Prussian National Assembly . Between 1849 and 1851 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Prussian Landtag . From 1859 to 1866 and from 1870 to 1882 Wachler was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . During this time he belonged to different political groups. At first he belonged to the Vincke faction , then to the right ( Grabow ), later to the left and finally to the national liberal . He was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1871. Wachler was a board member of the National Liberal Party from 1881 to 1884. He died in the triple emperor's year at the age of 85 .

He was the father of the judge and politician Ludwig Wachler and the economic officer Paul Wachler .
