The Erzbistum Suva ( lat. : Archidioecesis Suvanus ) is an in Fiji preferred Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Suva .

history

The Archdiocese of Suva was on March 27, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. Established from cession of territory by the Vicariate Apostolic Central Oceania as Apostolic Prefecture of Fiji . On May 10, 1887, the Apostolic Prefecture of Fiji was by Pope Leo XIII. raised to the apostolic vicariate . The Apostolic Vicariate of Fiji was founded on June 21, 1966 by Pope Paul VI. with the Apostolic Constitution Prophetarum voces raised to the Archdiocese and renamed the Archdiocese of Suva .
