Ethan Ringel

Ethan Ringel (born August 12, 1994 in Windermere , Florida ) is an American racing driver . He started in the Indy Lights in 2015 .

Career

Ringel began his motorsport career in karting in 2008 and remained active in this sport until 2011. In 2011, Ringel switched to North American formula racing . He competed in the Formula Enterprise and won four races. He also took part in four races of the F2000 Championship Series and achieved three top ten finishes. After the season, Ringel took part in test drives in the GP3 series in Europe . His driver-trainer Jay Howard encouraged him to take this step. For the GP3 series 2012 , Ringel finally received a contract with Atech CRS GP . Ringel remained without points and was 29th in the drivers' championship.

In 2013 , Ringel returned to North America. He received an Indy Lights cockpit with Team Moore Racing . However, he lost his place after the first race and did not contest any other races this year. In 2014 Ringel competed for One Formula Racing in the Atlantic Championship . He won one race and was on the podium six times in ten races. He finished the season in fourth place in the championship. In 2015 , Ringel competed in the Indy Lights for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports . A second place was his best result and also his only top 5 placement. He finished the season eleventh in the drivers' championship.
