The Etretat is a Ro-Ro - Ferry , by the French shipping company Brittany Ferries on the routes between Portsmouth and Le Havre and Portsmouth and Santander is used.
history
The ship was built under the hull number 220 at the Cantiere Navale Visentini shipyard in Porto Viro . It is a ship of the type NAOS P270 of the Visentini class, built in various designs . The ship was completed on September 1, 2008.
The ship was initially used by LD Lines between Le Havre and Portsmouth and Le Havre and Rosslare . From September 2009 to October 2011 the ship drove in charter for Celtic Link Ferries, which it used between Cherbourg and Portsmouth and Cherbourg and Rosslare. The ship then went back to LD Lines. In April 2012 it was sold to Stena RoRo Navigation. It has been operating as Etretat for Brittany Ferries since March 2014 .
Technical data and equipment
The drive of the ship by two four-stroke -Neunzylinder- diesel engines of the manufacturer MAN Diesel & Turbo (Type: 9L48 / 60B), each with 10,800 kW power , the two controllable pitch propellers act. The ship reaches a speed of 23.5 knots . The ship is equipped with two bow thrusters .
Three diesel generators each with an output of 1,901 kW (2,376 kVA apparent power ) and an emergency generator with 401 kW output (501 kVA apparent power) are available for power generation.
There is space for 375 passengers on board. The ship has 103 passenger cabins. In addition, five cots are available, which can be used in the cabins if necessary. In addition to the cabins, there are 51 recliners on board on the route to Le Havre and 20 recliners on the route to Santander. The passenger cabins are located on deck 6, the recliners as well as the handicapped accessible cabins on deck 5. This is also where the other facilities for passengers, including a restaurant, bar, cinema and shop are located.
There is space for 200 cars or 95 trucks on the ro-ro decks. The ship has five ro-ro decks that are connected by ramps. The ro-ro decks can be loaded and unloaded via a stern ramp (deck 3) and a ramp that can be used ashore (deck 4). The ro-ro deck on deck 5 is an open deck behind the superstructures .
