The Collegio Europeo di Parma Foundation is a university funded by the University of Parma and other national and municipal institutions.
History and teaching
The college was founded in 1988 by various local institutions. The aim was to promote " European Studies " in Parma and the Emilia-Romagna region , and to develop an institute at which one can study European law , European politics and European economics.
In 2003 the college was re-established as a foundation, similar to the institutes of the College of Europe in Bruges and Natolin in Poland . At the same time, the current range of courses was introduced and presented by the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, during the opening of the first academic year 2003-2004. The training consists of an interdisciplinary course on the process of European integration. As a degree, the students receive a diploma in Advanced European Studies .
The College's Scientific Committee consists of Cesare Azzali, Martin Bangemann, Andrea Boltho, Etienne Davignon, Jacques Delors, Franco Frattini, Erik Jones, Alfonso Mattera, Franco Mosconi, Ana Palacio and Romano Prodi.
