Eva Twaroch
Eva Maria Helga Twaroch (born July 14, 1963 in Vienna ; † December 29, 2018 in Paris ) was an Austrian journalist . Most recently she was the foreign correspondent for ORF in France .
Life
The daughter of lawyer , radio manager and journalist Paul Twaroch graduated from high school in 1981 and studied French and psychology at the University of Vienna . In 1982 she completed a semester abroad at the University of Orléans . In the same year she also started as a freelancer at ORF, where she worked for Radio Austria International as well as for the culture department and Seitenblicke .
At the same time she also worked as a journalist for French media.
Eva Twaroch was a correspondent in Paris from 1991. From 2008 she taught at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Innsbruck .
Eva Twaroch was married to a French actor and had twin daughters .
She died on December 29, 2018 in Paris of complications from a heart attack . The death of Twaroch caused deeply concerned and sympathetic reactions in Austria from the ORF to media politics . Among other things, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen praised Twaroch as an "outstanding journalist and correspondent with a high level of commitment and great expertise".
Eva Twaroch was buried in Vienna in the Gersthofer cemetery .
