Eva Fanny Bernhardine Countess von Baudissin , b. Türk, (born October 8, 1869 in Lübeck , † February 11, 1943 in Munich ) was a German writer . She also wrote under the pseudonym Bernhard von Brandenburg .

Life

She was born as the daughter of the medical officer and later city ​​physician Carl Türk and the writer Emmy Eschricht (1834–1900) in Lübeck. Her grandfather was the legal historian Karl Türk , her older brother Titus Türk was known as a naval officer.

She attended the secondary school for private daughters in Lübeck and successfully completed her teacher training in 1888. This was followed by a long stay with friends in England . Back in Lübeck in 1891 she married the officer and writer Wolf Ernst Hugo Emil Graf von Baudissin ; the marriage came from the son Wolf (1894-1924) and the daughter Lieselotte. The family lived in Hamburg until 1895 , in Schleswig until 1899 and then in Dresden until 1906 . Countess von Baudissin divorced her husband in 1906.

Various trips followed. In 1908, Countess von Baudissin settled in Munich, where she died in 1943.

Von Baudissin had published her first work in 1892: The story Das Wegdewood-Weibchen appeared in the magazine Zeitgeist . She published humoresques, short stories and novels under the pseudonym Bernhard von Brandenburg . Her complete oeuvre comprises almost 60 works, including a biography about the singer Wilhelmine Schröder-Devrient .

The Lübeck Museum Behnhaus keeps a portrait of her by August Godtknecht (1873).
