Evald "Evi" Tipner (* February 28 . Jul / 13. March 1906 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia , † 18 July 1947 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian football - Hockey - and Bandyspieler and athlete . He completed 66 international games for the Estonian national soccer team before World War II and took part with her at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris . He led the team onto the field as team captain forty times and was a record player for a long time with 66 appearances. He also played international matches for the ice hockey and national bandy team . The Estonian soccer cup competition (Eesti Karikas) has been named after Evald Tipner since 2012.
Career
Evald Tipner has played football actively since 1919 . He later played at grammar school under the direction of Heinrich Paal . From 1921 he played for three years in the youth teams of the SK Tallinna Sport . From 1924 to 1940 he played for sixteen years for the first football team of the sports club, with which he was seven times Estonian champion and one cup winner . Tipner, who was used both as a goalkeeper and in the attack, made 112 league games for the club and scored 18 goals. With the Estonian national football team he took part in the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, but was not used there. Tipner took part in the Baltic Cup nine times with the national team. He was able to win the title three times. Besides Karl-Rudolf Sillak, he was the only Estonian player who succeeded in this. In 1926 he was second at the Estonian athletics championships in triple jump , a year later third.

Evald Tipner died in 1947 at the age of 41. He was buried in the Tallinn Forest Cemetery.
