history

The church was built in 1715 on the site of the old church that burned down in 1712 and was consecrated in 1716. In the last years of the GDR the church fell into disrepair and was closed in 1980. The organ was no longer usable and the tower clock no longer worked. From 1986 the church was repaired. On February 28, 1990, the church tower collapsed on the roof of the nave during hurricane Wiebke . It was not until 2002 that the tower could be rebuilt and re-loaded together with the roof of the nave. The mechanical tower clock was reconstructed and the bells could be rung again.

description

The massive, plastered hall church has its steeple in the west. In 1719 a painting depicting the Last Judgment was placed above the altar . The nave is covered with a slate mansard roof. The church tower has a slate-roofed, eight-sided tower, which is covered by a hood that ends in a pointed helmet . The three bronze church bells had to be handed in for war purposes in 1916; they were replaced by cast steel bells in 1919 . The interior has two-storey galleries and is covered with a wooden barrel roof . A pulpit altar from the construction period belongs to the church furnishings . To the side of the pulpit there are statues of Moses and John the Baptist . He is crowned with a portrait of Mary .
