St. Jakobus in Rümmingen

The Evangelical Church of Rümmingen in the southern Baden municipality of Rümmingen dates back to 1505 and was a branch church of Binzen from the beginning . The church is one of the smallest in the district of Lörrach in terms of its dimensions and therefore looks more like a chapel . The church today consecrated to St. James is a pilgrimage church on the Way of St. James .

history

The sacred building in Rümmingen, mentioned in a document in 1505, was consecrated to St. Mary - according to other sources to St. Remigius . Due to the patronage and the shape of the window, it is assumed that this building is already a renovation, so that the current building is probably the same as it was in 1505. At the beginning of the Thirty Years War the choir was renewed. "Catholic icons", that is, images of saints mentioned in the middle of the 19th century, point to the original roots of the Rümmingen church. In 1957 the church was renovated and two new choir windows were installed.
