Evi Kurz (born November 4, 1955 in Fürth ) is a German television journalist, presenter and film producer.

Life

After graduating from high school, Kurz studied educational science at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and passed both state exams for teaching at elementary and secondary schools. Parallel to her work as a trainee teacher at secondary schools, she began her work as a television journalist and presenter for Bavarian television in January 1979 .

First she worked in the Studio Franken for the new program " Frankenschau ". From mid-1979 she also presented “ Abendschau ”, “ Jetzt red i ” and, from October 1979, the new BR news program , the “ Rundschau ”. Evi Kurz was selected to present the Rundschau's premiere broadcast on October 1, 1979. Günther Jauch was at her side as a newscaster for many “Rundschau” programs.

For the Erlangen media and medical publisher perimed , Evi Kurz moderated the monthly TV medical magazine “puls” between 1983 and 1993, which was also the official training organ of the Association of German Internists. In 2003, Kurz founded her own film and television production company TLF-TimeLineFilm GmbH in Fürth. The company produces contemporary history TV documentaries for the national and international television market. For the film and the 2007 book “Die Kissinger-Saga. Walter and Henry Kissinger - Two Brothers from Fürth “entrusted Henry Kissinger and his brother Walter Kissinger with their life and family history. In 2009 Lord George Weidenfeld published Evi Kurz's book for the English-speaking market under the title: “The Kissinger saga. Walter and Henry Kissinger - Two Brothers from Fuerth / Germany “at Weidenfeld & Nicolson in London.

On the 20th anniversary of reunification, Kurz produced the film “The bridge builders Henry Kissinger, Fritz Stern and Lord George Weidenfeld - Jewish emigrants and reunification” for broadcast on ARD in autumn 2010. In 2012, her biopic about the German-Jewish writer Roberto Schopflocher, who lives in Argentina, was published : “Robert Schopflocher - A Life Between Three Worlds”.

Evi Kurz is the initiator and jury chairman of the Louis Kissinger Prize, which was awarded for the first time in 2012. With this award, which commemorates the former Fürth teacher Louis Kissinger, a special teacher is honored annually in Fürth.

Evi Kurz is the 1st chairwoman of the Ludwig-Erhard-Initiativkreis Fürth eV and belongs to the Ludwig Erhard Foundation eV Bonn. In addition, she is chairwoman of the board of the Ludwig-Erhard-Haus Foundation, established in 2013, a public foundation with legal capacity under civil law. Both the initiative group and the foundation have made it their task to honor and promote the memory of the life and work of Ludwig Erhard . His contributions to the theoretical conception of the social market economy and his contributions to practical implementation are in the foreground. The main project is currently the Ludwig-Erhard-Zentrum , which opened on June 20, 2018.

Evi Kurz lives in Fürth, is married and has two grown daughters.
