In February 2008, Rhode Island State Representative Nicholas Gorham proposed to the Legislature the formation of a new city that would encompass the rural communities including Scituate. Other locations that will be part of the planned city of West Connaug are West Greenwich , East Greenwich , Exeter, Foster , Glocester and the western part of Coventry .
