The FAU Stadium (full name: Florida Atlantic University Stadium ) is a college football - stadium in the US city of Boca Raton , Florida . It is owned by Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and is in the north corner of campus . The university's NCAA football team, the Florida Atlantic Owls , play their games at the sports facility .

The stadium

The stadium, which costs 70 million US dollars, offers 29,419 seats in the uncovered grandstands. A multi-storey building with 32 boxes , 24 suites and the press stand sits enthroned on the main stand.

The stadium opened on October 15, 2011 with a game between the Florida Atlantic Owls and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers . The home side celebrated a clear 20-0 victory.
