The FC German Kreutz is a football club from the Burgenland market town of German Kreutz in Austria , near the Hungarian border. Currently, the FCD (short form) plays in the regional league in Burgenland , which is the fourth highest division in Austria. The club was founded in 1984 and the club colors are red and black.

history

FC Deutschkreutz was founded on June 15, 1984. It was created after a merger of the two German football clubs ASKÖ Deutschkreutz and SV Deutschkreutz.

But football in Deutschkreutz is a lot older. The first football club was founded on May 1, 1924 and was named 1. Deutschkreutzer Sportclub. In 1928, with the SV Rapid Deutschkreutz, a second club was launched in the Central Burgenland market town . In 1934 the two clubs merged to form SC Rapid Deutschkreutz. During the Second World War both clubs stopped playing.

Since Deutschkreutz was one of Burgenland's seven Jewish communities , the Hakoah Deutschkreutz football club also existed before the war.

A new club was founded as early as 1945 with the SV Deutschkreutz. Since there were a lot of talented footballers, the ASKÖ Deutschkreutz joined the club life of Deutschkreutz in 1952 . The two teams achieved many successes in Burgenland. SV Deutschkreutz made it to the Regionalliga Ost in 1965 . After only one season in the third highest division, it went back to the Landesliga Burgenland . In the decisive game against SC Eisenstadt it was a defeat. Rumors have it that the then Deutschkreutz coach and the top striker of the Deutschkreutz team had already signed a preliminary contract with the Eisenstadt-based company and therefore went about it rather half-heartedly.

The most important game in the times of the two clubs was of course the Deutschkreutzer Derby, a real highlight in the Oberpullendorf district. There was always a lot of explosiveness in the games, because it often happened that pairs of brothers clashed as bitter rivals. Of course, opinions also split at the fan camps. Another eternally explosive duel is also the " Blaufränkisch Derby" against Horitschon .

Due to the personal and financial problems of both clubs at the beginning of the 1980s, the call for a merger grew louder. After long negotiations, a merger came about on June 15, 1984 and the FC Deutschkreutz was founded. In 2014, under the direction of the coaching duo Maurizio Zoccola and Alfred Wagentristl, the club was promoted to the highest amateur league in Burgenland.

After a relegation place was actually occupied in the 2014/15 season with the 12th place, the club appealed against the relegation of four clubs to the II. League. This objection was granted by the Burgenland Football Association , so that FC Deutschkreutz was allowed to remain in the regional league.
