Fabian Boll (born June 16, 1979 in Bad Bramstedt ) is a former German soccer player and detective .

Career

In his youth, Boll played for Bramstedter TS , Itzehoer SV, Hamburger SV and from 1997 again for Itzehoer SV , where he also played his first senior games. Overall, Boll was used for Itzehoer SV in 54 games in the Oberliga Nord , group Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein. This was followed by two more stations in the Oberliga Nord. First TSV Lägerdorf , which landed fifteenth in the league at the end of the 2000/01 season, and later 1. SC Norderstedt , with the Boll in the 2001/02 season, a good third place behind the second representatives of HSV and FC St. Pauli occupied.

The midfielder has been under contract with FC St. Pauli since 2002 and initially played in the Oberliga Nord for the club's second team. From the 2003/04 season, Boll finally played regularly for the first team in the Regionalliga Nord . With the Millerntor team , Boll was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season and to the 1st Bundesliga in the 2009/10 season . On the 1st matchday of the 2010/11 season he played his first Bundesliga appearance against SC Freiburg and scored his premier goal in the upper house. Boll then scored a prestigious goal on matchday 4 with the 1-0 lead in the Hamburg city derby at Millerntor against Hamburger SV (final score 1: 1).

On February 16, 2014, Fabian Boll announced that he would end his active professional career at the end of the 2013/14 season. On May 11, 2014, FC St. Pauli said goodbye to him at the last home game. He then ended his playing career in the second team of FC St. Pauli in the Regionalliga Nord and also acted as an assistant coach.

On February 13, 2018, Boll joined the upper division SC Condor Hamburg as an assistant coach. On January 4, 2019, the Hamburg upper division club SC Victoria Hamburg announced the commitment of a coaching trio, consisting of Fabian Boll, Marius Ebbers and Benjamin Kruk.

From the 2019/20 season, Boll will be assistant coach at the second division Holstein Kiel .

Private

In his youth, Boll also played fistball in Schleswig-Holstein , where he represented VfL Kellinghusen & Bramstedter TS.

Boll is married, has a daughter and works part-time as a chief detective for the Hamburg police . He is involved in the White Ring . In October 2012, a biography about the footballer was published under the title Fabian Boll - The Heart of St. Pauli .

As the “museum sponsor of the team”, Boll (alongside Benedikt Pliquett ) has been supporting the construction of an FC St. Pauli Museum in the back straight of the Millerntor Stadium since the opening of the 2013/14 season.

On June 22, 2014, Boll played for the first time in the team of FC St. Pauli Hamburg Allstars as part of the benefit game Kicken mit Herz , which has been taking place every year since 2008 in the Hoheluft Stadium in Hamburg, against the UKE medical team , the Placebo Kickers Hamburg. This event supports the children's heart ward at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf.
