Fabian Brännström (born August 1, 1974 in Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey player who played for the Berlin Capitals , Adler Mannheim and DEG Metro Stars in the German Ice Hockey League . Since 2020 he has been professor of fire technology and fire protection engineering at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .

Career

The 1.79 m tall striker began his career in 1992 at BSC Preussen in the 1st Bundesliga , even after the DEL was founded , he was part of the squad of their successor clubs, the Preussen Devils and the Berlin Capitals .

For the 1998/99 season Brannström moved to the Bundesliga , the second highest division at the time, to Düsseldorfer EG, which had withdrawn from the DEL the year before for economic reasons. After DEG rose again to the DEL two years later, the left-handed shooter returned to the Berlin Capitals, via Adler Mannheim he got back to the now renamed DEG Metro Stars for the 2002/03 season , for whom he worked until he moved to Bietigheim- Bissingen was on the ice for the 2006/07 season .
