Fabian Dahlem (born January 6, 1966 in Rosenheim ) is a former German ice hockey goalkeeper , who last acted as a coach for the Heilbronner Falken in the DEL2 .

Career

Dahlem was active in his playing career as a goalkeeper in the ice hockey Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga and the German ice hockey league .

Dahlem began his coaching career at SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied in the ice hockey major league in the 2002/03 season . When he then worked at ERC Ingolstadt , he moved to ESV Kaufbeuren in the 2nd Bundesliga during the 2003/04 season after Kaufbeuren had separated from her coach Sergej Svetlow .

For the 2004/05 season he moved as assistant coach to the Kassel Huskies , where he was initially at the side of Milan Mokroš and then Bernhard Englbrechts in the German Ice Hockey League. With Stéphane Richer , he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season with the Kassel Huskies , but qualified again for the DEL two years later in the 2007/08 season .

In addition, Dahlem was appointed to the coaching staff of the U20 national team in October 2007 and was active as assistant coach at Ernst Höfner's side .

His contract as assistant coach with the "Huskies" ran until the 2009/10 season . Then he took over the post of sporting director in Kassel. After the association went bankrupt, Dahlem was dismissed. For the 2011/12 season , the Rosenheim coach of the second division Eispiraten Crimmitschau . On April 23, 2014, after securing the relegation of the Crimmitschauer, the club and Dahlem separated. He then worked for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league until January 2016 .

In February 2016, Dahlem took over the DEL2 Club Heilbronner Falken, which was in acute danger of relegation, as a trainer. The league did not succeed in sporting terms, but with the advancement of the Fischtown Pinguins into the DEL, the Falken received a second division license as a successor. In the 2016/17 season there is no lasting sporting success under Dahlem. The club, at that time second to last, announced the separation from Dahlem as coach on February 27, 2017.

For the 2017/18 season , Dahlem took on the role of goalkeeper coach at ERC Ingolstadt from the German Ice Hockey League .
