history

The Pioneers troop school was founded on March 22, 1956 in Munich in the Peterson barracks taken over by the US Army (built in 1937 as Lohengrin barracks , from 1964 Prinz-Eugen barracks ) and began teaching on July 1, 1956.

In 1971, an Army technical college for construction technology was founded in the pioneer school to train sergeants of the pioneer troops to become state-certified construction technicians. Since 1994 there has been a partnership with the Pioneer School of the French Armed Forces in Angers and since 2004 with the Pioneer School of the Dutch Armed Forces in Vught. In January 2009 the pioneer school moved to Ingolstadt. In the course of the realignment of the Bundeswehr and the reclassification to the HEER2011 , the Bundeswehr Center for Ordnance Disposal was placed under the command of the Army Pioneer School and Technical College for Structural Engineering in mid-2012.

Sleeve badge

The sleeve badge shows, like all badges of the military schools, two crossed swords on a red background. In addition, an "S" indicates that it is one of the Army School . The black border corresponds to the weapon color of the engineer troop .
