The International Helicopter Training Center (IntHubschrAusbZ) in Bückeburg ( Bückeburg Airfield ) was reorganized on July 1, 2015 from parts of the Army Aviation School. It is one of the Army’s training facilities and is responsible for training the command and technical personnel of the Army Aviation Troops, as well as basic aviation training for helicopter pilots in all branches of the armed forces. The training center is subordinate to the training command.

The International Helicopter Training Center is the Bundeswehr's central training facility in the German Army for basic helicopter driver training for the Army, Air Force and Navy, as well as training in aviation and aircraft technology related to weapon systems on the Army’s new weapon systems, the tactical transport helicopter (TTH) NH90 and the TIGER combat helicopter . At the same time, pilots from allied nations, especially Sweden , Belgium and the Netherlands , are trained on helicopters here.
history
The Army Aviation Weapons School was set up in Niedermendig in 1959 and relocated to the Jägerkaserne and Achum Bückeburg airfield in January 1960 in Bückeburg . In addition to general military and technical training, the contents of the training also include aeronautical training for army pilots.
In 1998, Le Luc (France) was added , and in 2002 Celle (Army Aviation Test Squadron 910). Since 2003, the German and French armed forces have jointly maintained the Franco-German Army Aviation Training Center TIGER (DEU / FRA HFlgAusbZ Tiger) for training the Eurocopter Tiger in Le Cannet-des-Maures (France).
With the establishment of the International Helicopter Training Center on July 1, 2015, the responsibility for training changed from the Air Force to the Army for weapons-related aircraft engineering training for the NH90 and Eurocopter Tiger weapon systems . The NH90 parts of the Air Force's technical training center and the German part of the German-French training facility Tiger in Faßberg were subordinated to the International Helicopter Training Center . At the same time, the Heer Bückeburg training workshop was subordinated.

Simulator center
The simulator center is able to replace real flight hours. In the simulator building there are 12 full mission simulators which can be equipped with interchangeable cockpits EC 135, CH53 and UH-1D. In addition, two NH90 simulators from HFTS are operated in a second building.
Heer Bückeburg training workshop
The training workshop trains up to 28 trainees each year for the profession of aircraft mechanic specializing in maintenance technology and 12 trainees for the profession of aircraft electronics technician . With up to 160 training positions, the Heer Bückeburg training workshop is one of the largest in the Bundeswehr and the largest training company in the Schaumburg district .
Training helicopter
- MBB Bo 105 VBH , 84 pieces: In addition to training purposes, the Bo 105 was also used as a liaison and observation helicopter (VBH). On December 13, 2016, the last flight of a Bo 105 took place in the Bundeswehr.

Association badge
The association badge, like all badges of the military schools, shows two crossed swords on a red background. In addition, an "S" indicates that it is one of the army's schools . The gray border corresponds to the weapon color of the army aviators .
Since 1989 the internal association badge has shown a red coat of arms with a black hunting falcon on the falconer's fist. The structures of the falcon and the hand are yellow.
