The Heer Combat Simulation Center (GefSimZH) in Wildflecken is a training facility that provides training units with simulation models for carrying out combat exercises and supports them in planning and carrying them out. The center is one of the centers of the army and is subordinate to the training command . The center is run by a colonel .

assignment

The center further develops the existing simulations and gathers the knowledge gained from them for the further development of tactics , troop types and their equipment and management and operational principles. The units exercising can also be troops from foreign armed forces. So far these were u. a. the Franco-German Brigade , the 1st German-Dutch Corps , the 1st Belgian Division and the Eurocorps .

history

Until 1997 the army maintained 14 decentralized GUPPIS systems ("Combat simulation system to support planning / staff exercises and plan examinations in staffs and large units"). In 1997 these modules were combined in the combat simulation training center in Wildflecken. The Dutch army has been involved in the center since 1999 . Since 2001 the name is the battle simulation center of the army . In 2003 the SIRA simulation model was integrated. This means that four simulation models are available: KORA OA (corps frame simulation model for officer training), SimoF (simulation model for exercises in operational leadership), SIRA and VBS3 (Virtual Battle Space - 3D simulation for tactical training from platoon to company level). The latter has been used since 2020 to train armored infantry companies with a view to training on the PUMA weapon system.

In 2007 the center was transferred to a new STAN and was given the new name of the Army Combat Simulation Center .

coat of arms

The coat of arms (internal association badge) shows two crossed swords on a red background, which indicates the subordination to the Army Office . The coat of arms also shows a chess piece and thus has a link to tactical training. At the top left are the Bavarian diamonds due to their home state . The thistle on the coat of arms also shows that it belongs to the region.
