The army’s training facilities consist of a large number of facilities such as schools, training centers with training areas and training bases that the Bundeswehr operates in Germany.

history

As part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr , the army training facilities were placed under the training command by the Army Office on July 1, 2013 .

management

The commander of a training facility is usually also a general of the relevant military type such as general of the artillery , general of infantry , general of armored troops , etc. However, contrary to the name, this position can also be held by a colonel , but this is usually an officer with the rank of brigadier general .

The officer candidates perform their service in two officer candidate battalions, which are attached to the infantry training center and the Munster training center .

The Heer Combat Training Center in Letzlingen is also responsible for the operation and administration of the Altmark military training area in the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide .

Organization of the units in schools

The units at the schools of the Bundeswehr have different names than those used in service:

Former army training facilities

The former training institutions were restructured and renamed or incorporated into a training center as a training base or training area. Other training institutions are no longer the army, but z. B. has been placed under the armed forces base.
