Richard Bolz

Richard Bolz (born April 19, 1947 in Bellheim / Pfalz ) is a Brigadier General a. D. of the Army of the German Armed Forces and was most recently commander of the Army Aviation School and General of the Army Aviation Force .

Life

Bolz joined the Bundeswehr on July 3, 1967 as a contract soldier with the mountain troops in Mittenwald . After completing his officer training, he was commanded to fly to the USA in 1970. Back in Germany, Bolz became a squad leader in Army Aviation Regiment 10 in Celle in 1972 . This was followed by employment as an S3 officer in the staff of Army Aviation Command 1 in Münster . In 1978 he was transferred to Mendig and took over the post of squadron captain of the staff / supply squadron in Army Aviation Regiment 35 in Mendig.

As early as 1979, Bolz was transferred to the Federal Armed Forces Command Academy in Hamburg , where he took part in the 22nd Army General Staff course. After completing this course in 1981, he made his way to Calw to the 25th Airborne Brigade , where he was deployed as a G4 staff officer. Another course abroad followed in 1983, this time the one-year Italian general staff training in Rome . Bolz then became head of the G3 department in the staff of Panzergrenadierbrigade 4 in Göttingen and, in 1986, S3 staff officer and deputy regiment commander in Army Aviation Regiment 25 in Laupheim in Swabia .

In 1989 Bolz was reassigned and became a flight operations officer in the army command staff at the Federal Ministry of Defense in Bonn . This assignment was followed by a further stay abroad in 1991, this time in Oslo / Norway , when he took over the post as head of G3 operations at the AFNORTH headquarters . He then returned to Celle, where he was given command of the Army Aviation Regiment 16 in 1993 , before he became Chief of Staff at the Military District Command 6 / 1st Mountain Division in Munich in 1997 . This was followed in 2000 by a further assignment in the command staff of the Army on the Hardthöhe in Bonn , this time as head of Section II 1. In 2002 he was transferred again and as commander of Army Aviation Brigade 3 in Mendig was again a troop command.

On 12 March 2004 Bolz took over as Colonel office and command as commander of the Army Aviation School and General of the Army Aviation Corps from his predecessor Brigadier General Bernhard Granz . During this employment he was made a brigadier general. On April 30, 2009, Bolz handed over this post to his successor Reinhard Wolski and retired at the same time.
