Fahhad Mohammed al-Subaie ( Arabic فهاد محمد السبيعي, DMG Fahhād Muḥammad as-Subaiʿī ; * February 4, 1994 ) is a Saudi sprinter .

Athletic career

Fahhad al-Subaie gained his first international experience at the World Youth Championships in 2011 near Lille , where he was eliminated in the 200-meter run in the preliminary run and also did not make it to the final with the Saudi sprint relay (1000 meters). Two years later he won the silver medal at the Arab Championships in Doha in 20.55 s. He then won the Asian Championships in Pune in 3: 02.53 min with the 4 x 400 meter relay and won the silver medal over 200 meters behind the Chinese Xie Zhenye in 20.92 seconds . He also finished fifth in the 100-meter run in 10.48 s. This was followed by victory over 200 meters at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang as well as winning the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay and the bronze over 100 meters. In 2014 he took part for the first time in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , where he won the silver medal behind Katari Femi Ogunode in 20.74 seconds . At the 2015 Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan , he finished eighth in 40.41 s with the 4 x 100 meter relay and won the silver medal over 200 meters behind Ogunode in 20.63 s.

Two years later he won silver over 200 meters at the Arab Championships in Radès and won the relay in 40.08 s. At the beginning of September he was disqualified in the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in both the 60-meter run and the 4-by-400-meter relay in the preliminary run. In 2019, he won the relay again at the Arab Championships in Cairo and won bronze in the 200-meter run. Shortly afterwards he reached the final at the Asian Championships in Doha over this distance, but could not compete there again. He also finished fourth in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.52 s. In July he retired at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 49.59 s in the 400-meter run in the first lap. Over 200 meters he qualified for the World Championships in Doha, where he was eliminated with 20.59 s in the lead . He was then at the Military World Games in Wuhan in 20.91 s fourth over 200 meters and was disqualified over 100 meters in the semifinals. In addition, he was unable to qualify for the final with the 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 18.68 min.
