The Faculty of Economics at the University of Vienna is an organizational unit of the University of Vienna .
History and Development
In 1763, on behalf of Empress Maria Theresia, a professorship for camera sciences was set up at the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna for the first time ; it was filled with Joseph von Sonnenfels . In the course of the faculty reform in 1975, the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Vienna, which had existed until then, was split up into a Faculty of Law and a Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences. In the course of the latest faculty reform in 2004, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Vienna was given its current layout. In 2013, the faculty moved to the inner-city area and is now located together with the Faculty of Mathematics in the Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz 1 building. The Faculty of Economics at the University of Vienna is an internationally recognized research and training facility where around 320 employees research and teach.

Research performance

Studies in the Faculty
