The Falkland Pound is the currency of the Falkland Islands . It is also used as currency in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands , which administratively belong to the Falkland Islands, although the official currency there is the pound sterling .

The ISO 4217 code is FKP .

Own banknotes have been used since 1921, own coins have been issued since 1974. The Falkland pound is modeled after the pound sterling (similar to the currencies of the British Channel Islands ) and has a fixed exchange rate of 1: 1 with it.

With only about 5000 users (of which about 4700 are residents of the Falkland Islands including the permanently stationed military personnel), the Falkland pound is the least used currency in the world.
