Until 1945, the district was in the Groß Strehlitz district . The complex, created as a forest settlement next to a forester's house, is three kilometers north of the town of Strzelce Opolskie. The place name Kolonie indicates a planned settlement founded in the 18th or 19th century.
In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Farska Kolonia and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
