Search Łany (German: Sucholohna ) is a district of Strzelce Opolskie ( Groß Strehlitz ) and a Schulzenamt of the Strzelce Opolskie municipality in Poland .

The place was first mentioned on September 21, 1382.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Additions to the Description of Silesia as Lona or Sucho-Lona , belonged to the Count of Colonna and was in the Groß Strehlitz district of the Principality of Opole . In 1865 Sucholohna had 33 farmers, twelve half-farmers, twelve gardeners, 24 cottagers and 75 residents, as well as a Catholic school. The traders included a Kretschmer (innkeeper), a cooper, a locksmith, two blacksmiths, eight tailors, four wheelwrighters and a shoemaker.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 385 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 242 for membership of Poland, at Gut Sucholohna 24 voted for Germany and 39 for Poland. Sucholohna remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . On January 1, 1931, Sucholohna was incorporated into the city of Groß Strehlitz. In 1936 the district was renamed Trockengrund . Until 1945, the district was in the Groß Strehlitz district .

In 1945 the previously German district came under Polish administration and was renamed Suche Łany and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the district came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the district came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
