Fassmer FPB 28 is the shipyard name of a series of customs cruisers from the Fassmer shipyard in Berne / Motzen, of which a total of six ships were built for the German customs administration in the 1990s . The series is also referred to as the "Glückstadt type" after the type ship .

commitment

The ships are used in the area of the Federal Finance Directorate North by the Sea Control Unit in the North Sea and Baltic Sea for customs and tax law tasks. In addition, they are also available to the federal coast guard and are used in the field of environmental and fisheries protection. The range of the ships is 540  nautical miles .

Technical data and equipment

The vessels are of three MWM - diesel engines (type: TBD 604 BV 8) with a capacity of each 825  kW driven. The motors act on three propellers . The two propellers on the port and starboard sides are fixed pitch propellers, the propeller in the middle is a controllable pitch propeller . The ships reach a speed of 26  knots . They are equipped with a bow thruster .

The MWM diesel engines on two ships in Rostock were replaced with more environmentally friendly MTU engines in 2011 .

The ships have two decks with a closed steering position. They are designed for operation with up to six crew members . A daughter boat is carried in a stern tub, which can leave the mother ship independently and be brought back on board using a hoist .
